Musical Baton Musical Baton Musical Baton

I'm not sure what the whole Musical Baton thing is about, but Bill Horvath shot it my way, so here goes :)

Total volume of music files on my computer

According to iTunes: 16.84gb, 4033 songs which would take 11.3 days to play all the way through. I also have roughly 50-100 CDs that I haven't ripped to iTunes yet...

Last CD Bought

Gorillaz: I actually heard two of their songs on an XBox game, Project Gotham Racing. Very good tunes with lots of heavy beats

Song playing right now

Well I just woke up and hit play on the iTunes, so it's Jimmy Buffet's Volcano in the Party Shuffle :)

Five songs I listen to a lot, or that mean a lot to me

  • Jason Mraz: Sleeping to Dream
  • Bob Dylan: Hurricane
  • Gorillaz: Feel Good, Inc.
  • Bob Schneider: Getting Better
  • Marcus Eaton and the Lobby: Blue and Gray

Five People to Whom I?m Passing the Baton

  • Alex Marino
  • Dad Short
  • Jared Rypka-Hauer
  • Jon Parkhurst
  • Scott Fegette (because I've seen the way he moves
Nifty Service Tool Nifty Service Tool Nifty Service Tool

Schlomy Gantz has put out a nifty tool for managing Windows services from the taskbar. You can set up multiple snapshots that can turn services on and off at a whim. I haven't tried it yet, but it's on my list of toys to play with this week :)

AJAX Link AJAX Link AJAX Link

I'm getting more and more interested in the whole AJAX buzzword. To that end, I found a link to SAJAX through the MXNA. So I'm mostly posting this link for my own reference :), but you can enjoy it too...

If you've used this already, please let me know what you think about it. I'm out of town until Saturday, but I plan on giving it a trial run next week to see how much fun I can have.

Firefox + iTunes = FoxyTunes Firefox + iTunes = FoxyTunes Firefox + iTunes = FoxyTunes

I love me some iTunes... I listen to it all day, and have a hard time getting any meaningful work done if I don't have some tuneage (just watch the Now Playing list to the left). But the media controls on my keyboard don't always control iTunes the way I want it to unless iTunes is in mini mode, which also means that I can't minimize it so it's not in my taskbar.

I was cruising the internet today and found FoxyTunes. FoxyTunes allows you to control almost any media player directly from FireFox's status bar. Well, I just happen to have FireFox open all day, ever day, JUST LIKE iTunes! Seeing a connection here? I downloaded the extension, installed it, and bam, it worked perfectly on the first try. I'm loving FireFox more and more every day...
